I am a Psychodynamic Psychotherapist, working with adults of all ages from diverse backgrounds who are experiencing a variety of issues.
I know that to explore difficult feelings and worries, it is important to have a safe and secure place to allow thoughts and feelings to arise in their own time, and in a non-judgmental and confidential relationship. Sometimes your concerns can benefit from a short-term approach, but difficulties which are rooted in past experiences or childhood may take more time to be made sense of.
People who come to see me have experienced a range of issues in life, which may be helped by exploring feelings and thoughts. These include relationship difficulties (both heterosexual and LGBT+) either at home or at work, feelings of sadness, anxiety and depression, post-natal depression, low self confidence and self esteem, difficulty communicating feelings and emotions, childhood trauma, Disability, unexplained health symptoms, suicidal feelings, addiction, abuse, self-harm, eating disorders , bereavement and loss,or coming to terms with life changing events such as being or becoming a parent, separation or divorce, becoming a carer, redundancy and retirement. I also work with Boarding School survivors.
I offer both short term counselling and long term psychotherapy .
I have worked in the voluntary sector, in private practice, in a secondary school and in NHS (in a psychotherapy unit and for GPs).
To make an initial appointment, you can telephone 07914394814, although you may be put through to voicemail. Your voicemail message is confidential and I will respond as soon as possible.
I offer a limited number of places for those who are unable to afford the full fee.
